As you can see from the chart, one of the reasons people choose the Jetta over the Corolla is the turbocharged engine that comes standard in the Jetta. This engine gets 150 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque compared to the Corolla, which gets 132 hp and 128 lb.-ft. The new Jetta also comes available with two other engine selections, a 1.8L TSI, 16-valve, DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct injection and intercooler and a 2.0L TSI, 16-valve, DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct injection and intercooler. The Corolla does not get any more engine choices, however the Corolla LE Eco model's engine comes with Valvematic technology which allows for better gas mileage. Other differences between the two include the availability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the Jetta and not the Corolla, plus much better fuel economy in the Jetta when comparing between the base models.
